I have been teaching both digital photography, videography, and landscape painting courses and workshops in Italy since 2000. I first discovered Santu Lussurgiu and the Montiferru area of Sardinia in 2002, while I was still living and teaching art in Florence, Italy. I found the Montiferru landscape was such perfect place tofilm, photograph, and paint that Angela and I bought a home here so we could return between semesters and all the summer. We moved to Santu Lussurgiu full-time in 2005. My love of this landscape, the culture, and its people are so strong that I must, as an artist, live here in Sardinia. I believe my affection for this place also makes a difference in my workshops. I know the land, its nuances, the effect of seasonal changes on it, as well as both the secret and the not so secret locations for painting, filming and photographing this unique area.

This allows me to give individualized instruction, time, and allows the person taking the workshop to experience this area more like a friend that I take out painting or shooting with me rather than a member of a tourist workshop group.
