Photography
There is something interesting about photographs. Most appear to show or describe something real, physical, solid. Yet they show only an instance, as seen by someone else, an instant with a certain point of view, of the truth...a story to tell...perhaps. Story? Truth? Photographs are not neutral? They show the world as it is and they distort the reality of the world. Just what in a photograph can we believe? Why do we want to believe a photograph? Are they answers to the questions: What are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? And what about beauty? All which are very subjective. Are photographs a search for what we do not know or understand very well? You will find hundreds of my photographs interwoven into my internet installations.
Internet Installations
Wander without a certain course, with no definite object in mind, setting out in an unknown direction. Discover what awaits you around the bend: the expected; the unexpected; the banal; the mysterious; the beautiful; the unsightly; the marvelous.
iPod Videos
I like those small in size (360 x 240 pixels or smaller) and short in filming time (35 seconds or less) movies that most of the recent digital still cameras allow you to take. This art of personal miniature movie-making forces you to think about what you are filming and what you are missing. I combine these short clips into short movies, perfect for watching over the internet or on your iPod.
